Oh wow, I want to paint on a feather :( Although I've looked, there are no places around us that sell good feathers...Did you buy the feather or find it?
It's a peahen's tail feather - my mother raises them. :) Stay away from craft feathers, they're garbage. Your best bet is to find people who raise turkeys and peacocks, and pick up the summer's molt.

Thanks for the info :D I think I'll practice painting a bit more before I look though, my paint skills are rusty.
